Caroline
Charlotte
The days have just been flying by. The girls are growing like crazy. Plus, they are more awake during the day! I used to actually be able to check email and do a little online shopping but no more. I'm lucky if I get to eat lunch without holding one. But I admit, it is so fun watching them grow and become more aware of their surroundings. They are so much more alert. Caroline has been smiling and showing her personality for a while now but Charlotte just started. There is nothing that makes my day (or Andrew's) more than getting a big smile out of them. Charlotte likes to smile the most right after she eats. She must take after her Mommy. Caroline loves to be played with. Their favorite thing...daddy playing "feetsies" with them. That's when he does different things with their feet..sometimes bike riding, jogging, clapping together. It doesn't matter, they love it! Every day is better and better. This past week, they both started rolling from their back onto their stomach. Caroline had actually done it first a few weeks ago but now is a pro. The first time Charlotte did it, she didn't want to stop. She would make her self so frustrated just trying to do it over and over again. We learned a little about her personality....when girl is determined to do something, she's going to do it! I know parent's say time flies with your children growing up but I really didn't start noticing until about 3 months. Now they are growing so fast, even day to day! Oh I need time to stand still for a little while.
I've had a few people ask how it's going staying at home. Honestly, I love it. I know it's not for everyone but it's definitely for me. Despite this horrible heat, I try to get the girls out every morning for a good walk. I have some friends in the neighborhood that stay home and we get together for walks. I joined a gym and can take the girls up there for an hour or so a day. I think it's good for them to get used to the interaction with others and it's a nice break for me. I still have a lady that comes for half a day on Tuesdays and Fridays....definitely a big help. If the girls and I really need to get out of the house, we will go to La Cantera, a nice outdoor shopping area here. It's mostly shaded and when it gets hot we can just walk into a store. It doesn't help that I literally know every single item that Anthropologie has in their store at all times. But it makes for a relaxing afternoon.
We met my niece, Parker Nila, now almost two months ago in Midland. That was the girls first trip. I thought it would have been easy on them since they pretty much sleep in the car but I was wrong. I'm sure it was a combination of the car ride, not being at home, altering schedules and tons of passing around to different people to love on them that made it a difficult trip. But I will say I want my girls to get used to traveling. It's something that Andrew and I love to do and we look forward to many trips with the girls...even at this age. In fact, we have a big trip coming up that I am excited and nervous about. More to come on that in a minute. But back to my niece's cuteness. She is just precious. She looks so much like her daddy! I'm so excited to have all the girls so close in age. My mom, sister and Parker are all coming to visit this weekend!

So, the Watermelon Thump was a couple of weeks ago. It's a small town festival in Luling, Texas, where Andrew is from. It's a tradition that we go every year. This was my eighth thump! It's hard to believe we've been together that long! The thump usually consists of reminiscing with old friends, playing bocce ball and watching the most entertaining parade. It's a good time and something we look forward to every year...even if it is in Luling.

The girls had their first 4th of July and I think they really enjoyed it. We went to a little neighborhood parade, where I managed to get no pictures. Then we met friends for lunch in Gruene.
